What cripples most hand vacs IMO is the lack of a flexible hose to reach hard to reach areas, and the lack of an attachable wand and floor brush for use as a basic home vac when you don't need to pull out the heavy duty one. If makers think that would bring the price up to where it wouldn't sell, then at least offer these as add-ons. I recently bought a home vac kit on Amazon, one of those no-name Chinese jobs, that came with all of these and is pretty powerful, for $100. It was really handy cleaning several cars with its flexible hose and crevice attachments.
