this is the average price for a cruiser from a convenience store, huffy and schwinn have always been $98 from my understanding. They're all about the same bike with a single speed and coaster brake setup except for the step thru design.
Kent and Schwinn bikes are both made by pacific cycles, so brand won't really matter.
We bought one in summer. The pedal broke after 2 days of use. Huffy sent replacement but it was not easy to fix. Had to return it. I wouldn't recommend.
Bought this Kent bike for my wife last Spring from Walmart. It was $124 + tax, free shipping. (The rose gold color we got is now $198 for some reason, but the purple one is still $124.)

The version we got has front and rear hand brakes, and it has a 7-speed gear setup. I rode it (5'7") and thought it was actually quite smooth and decent, but I while I am a sports enthusiast, I'm definitely not a bike enthusiast.
I put it together myself, and yes, just like some lower rated reviews, there may be some issues with metal bends from shipping or brakes that take a bit to adjust correctly (but then work fine afterwards). For example, I had to use a hammer or pliers to get the front wheel onto a partially bent frame corner, but once I got it on, the wheel spun smoothly and straight.
For $124, I think we got a very good bike at the price point.
I bought it for my wife. Definitely a 100 dollar bike but I threw a Zoomy ebike kit on it and have it tucked away for Christmas. We have a level biking trail near our house so this bike will suffice. Not sure this is a super savings as I routinely see these this price at box stores.
We have a flat riding path behind us... Will this ride in a sandy environment for my fat ass or am I going to get stuck in the sand? I'd love to get us bikes but I'm worried about the weight limit.
