Looks like you just have to have a MyPanera account and register your amex card. Set a google calendar reminder to CANCEL your subscription before 6 months or you will be charged $8.99 a month.

Hot water can also be used for cocoa, instant oatmeal, instant soups, etc. And most Panera store have ample seating. I was spending $2-$3 a day buying hot tea at other places before I found this.

My SO refuses to drink the hot water, saying it tastes like coffee and chemicals. So for her free sub, we just take a couple of tea bags and she makes hot tea at home.
