Plastic 'heatsinks' on this one (plastic is a pretty good insulator, it doesn't work well for heat transfer). Sorry, but it's junk. Pay more and get lights with actual metal heatsinks. They will run much cooler, last longer, and probably won't burn your house down.

Do you know a better one off hand. Need 4 for my garage. Prefer ones that glow more like old school bulbs....not a harsh white.

Which ones actually use metal rather than silver paint though?

Just get some 100w equivalent LED bulbs if you want all around lighting. 120w equivalent LED if you want down lighting (or wherever your light sockets are pointing). You can also buy socket splitters to adapt a single socket to many and some are aimable.

The most yellow bulb you can get is 2700k aside the "bug lights"

Costco warehouse is selling them for $29.99 after $10 discounted with aluminum heat sinks, etc. Plus it is "distributed" by Costco, etc. Installed four of those and don't really how long they will last but they are super bright

I used to work in consumer products.

Costco has the best (i.e. hardest to qualify for) quality control team in the retail business.

If it's at Costco, it's either good stuff, or is a limited trial release. But either way: lifetime returns.

I have these in my basement that I use several hours a day for about 1.5 years. Pretty cheap and I like that there is a bulb in the center. I believe it's all plastic but works for me.

LED Basement Lights 2 Pack, Dimmable Basement Lights Ceiling LED, 60W Deformable LED Garage Light Bulb, 6000 Lumens Screw in LED Garage Light with 4 Leaf Panels, 6500K Daylight White Garage Lighting https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0874CW...A2CPAPW1JC

There's a limit to their lifetime returns...

Sure.

And don't abuse them.

But I like knowing they stand behind their products in a way that no one else does.

I don't have these specific ones, but have others ones with plastic heat sinks. Honestly, I've never felt them getting hot was an issue. From my use in garages, they are perfectly fine.

But with that said, they are kind of cheaply made. I've already broken two of them not paying attention and hitting stuff into them. But 100% my fault, just that once they break you see how flimsy the screw in part is made. Snaps right off the base.

I also bought from Costco and it made my garage super bright. Happy with it.

I see $39.99 after $10 discount online. Did you get them in local warehouse?
