If it's the genuine article yeah 12 hours is accurate if you use ice as well. But you'll run out of drink way before then. These are hands down THE BEST drink containers for kids. They're durable, leak proof, the straws are cheap to replace, and easy to thoroughly clean so no hidden corners for mold to hide. Just make sure to clean the air hole in the straw and the latch in the lid.

I second this. My 6 year old has had a couple for years. I've had to reglue the bottom plastic and replace the straws, but they're great.

The models with the silicone straw are indeed a great transition item out of traditional sippy cups. They're particularly a good option as kids transition to school where spigot designs are often still discouraged. The bottom plastic loosens up, and some of the top lid handle designs aren't the most rugged, but the replaceable silicone seal and straw make them really long-lived (you know they're getting old when it becomes trivial for your kid to defeat the spill-proof design).
