I bought this 12/4/17 for $1.43 thanks to slickdeals. The roll was still unused out in my garage. I am sure it gets hotter than 70 and gets close to freezing. Went and checked and it still seems new. I ripped a piece off and it seemed like duct tape. Didn't do any tests though.
I wonder if this is TSA-approved?

That 'duct tape' test was three years ago and "way superior" is very subjective to application. There is no argument that Brute Force T-Rex is good tape over their cheaper version, but if say, trying to seal real duct work, there are better suited tapes that are not fabric type. I have no idea what the narrow OP would be best for.
Meanwhile, I bought a roll of Gorilla clear on one of the past sales and after patching some holes in polyethylene tarps, that is some good tape for and once again, a specific purpose.
