Is the sound quality really bad? Why is that - because of the picture or because it is vinyl?
Thanks!
edit - just looked at reviews and yeah it looks like it is because of the picture... too bad, it would have been a nice gift.
Vinyl can sound very awesome. Picture disks usually have bad sound, or sometimes horrible sound. Mixing color stuff with the vinyl makes it poor quality for taking on the etching needed to produce sound.
It's a shame picture discs sound like crap, but a reality. If I get a picture disk it's for the art/collectible aspect not the sound. And I don't do that very much because what's the point?
I seem to remember back in high school (80's) looking for the live Crowley picture disk because of Randy's awesome solo. Never did find the disk. Years later I found a recording of it and You Said It All from side B.

Most don't buy picture disc to play, mostly to display...
Thanks!

it is neat but based on what I have gathered over the past few years, and being a huge Sabbath, Ozzy fan, I stayed away from this one
To my and my vinyl collection one thing and one thing only matters, the sound quality, that is it
I do have some LP's I ONLY buy because it is cool, and a couple are picture disks but they are rally rare ones and that is why I own them
