I found this while looking for an Ozone generator to help knock down some mold/mildew spores in a basement garden. I couldn't even find a smaller 5000mg/hr used for $50... Granted, there's only one review and no other sellers i could find on the internet, but with amazon's return policy, why not try it?

My plans are for basement use while the house is empty of occupants/pets, including my worm farm. This will run off it's buillt-in timer and a smart plug will control the exhaust fan once it's done.... FYI, Ozone has a half life time of ~30 mins. This means that the concentration is halved every 30 minutes. Depending on the concentration, it will convert from O3 to O2 in 30mins-4hrs, roughly. Also, Ozone (o3) is heavier than Oxygen (o2), so that it will be more concentrated low to the ground/lower levels.

My sister used to clean houses and an older couple had these all over their house. She literally had to force them to go to the ER. They had no idea. So not everyone knows these are bad.
This just in: product literally named "ozone generator" is health hazard despite being plastered in safety warnings. More news at 11. Coming up: Do toasters "toast" things you put into them?
By the way, the popular machine that sterilizes CPAP equipment is a mini ozone generator. That's why it comes with instructions to NOT open or use a sterilized mask until the machine's green light says it's safe.

There are clearly practical and proper uses for these things, but using it to clean the air in your home isn't one of them.
they had a distinctive zzzzzzzzz sound
Something tells me the liquor and chain smoking killed most of the attendees rather than the ozone machines
I have the same size unit from Airthereal [amazon.com] (and this may be the same thing rebranded) and it is awesome. Clears the sports and boy stench out of our son's room quite effectively, removes dog odor from the car after long travels/backwoods trips, and we leave one at our old cottage on a smart plug (runs cyclically a couple times a week) to keep it fresh for when we arrive.
I picked ours up from Woot, and every time these come up the same doomsayers pop in. Pay them no attention. Use it as it is intended, follow the instructions and you'll be just fine,
Now, I await the down votes from said cranky types

This is where I was thinking the ozone generator might come into play - If I were to buy one of these could I just put it next to the dehumidifier under the 'tented' area and run it while we're out of the house? Or could I even run the thing under the tarp while we're at home as long as I tape the tarp down completely? There might still be some 'cracks' or small gaps around the sides but a majority will be taped/sealed off. Or is it better just to be out of the house completely? Would an ozone generator even be useful for this kind of application? We also had a prior rat infestation in the kitchen area and there are lingering smells in there but not as bad as before. Would something like this help with removing the odor?
