Just more power efficient. Good for items like this not for power computers.

Not trash but the 8183C is definitely much slower compared to the N4000 and N4020 that ya find in similar priced Chromebooks.

What exactly is a power computer if you're buying a $150 chromebook (genuinely curious.) I always figured chromebooks are generally used for surfing, music, and streaming.

Also dated with my chromebook usages and normally buy laptops, so kind of thought about buying a $150 chromebook instead of bringing the gaming computer around.

Great question. I would love to see if someone does a real-world usage comparison. The benchmark tests don't mean much to me and most uses on a Chromebook won't be too intense. I rather get 15 hours of battery than 10 since that is a big difference. Octacore also makes mediately better for multitasking, but not sure how much you would do on one of these. So the question is do web pages and Netflix load quicker in the Intel? If so is it noticeable?

The 8183c is actually quite a bit faster check the scores on notebookcheck. Geekbench for 8183c is about 1400 and for the Celeron about 900.

These CPU in these Chromebook are trash. So as the eMMC storage chips. Not upgradable SSD slot, means I will pass.

Mediatek will also have pretty compatibility with android apps, Intel chips can still be a hit or miss if you're relying on android apps

I've had this laptop for about a year now and so far it has been great battery life is insane I get about two full days of having like 10 tabs open on chrome. Performance is great nothing amazing but no real slowdowns to speak of. speakers are much better than most of these cheap Chromebooks. The screen is IPS and gets very bright and I really like it. The hinge has been flawless the entire time no creaking or popping. Overall very happy with the machine and I've had different Chromebooks of all kinds and android tablets but this is one of my favorites.

I've always found Octane scores to be the most accurate when it comes to a processors performance in Chromebooks. The 8183c scores around 10,000 which is far below the the N4000 and N4020. I've purchased two Chromebooks with the 8183c and returned them both within days. My current crop is running mostly N4020's.

Where can you get an IPS screen, great keyboard + battery life in any other product for that price. Get a usb c dock and most everything is there then. Also charging times are quick. So everything admin said!
