I think they wait until after return window has closed before issuing the rebate to make sure rebate amount is not issued toward items that have been returned. I'm not taking the risk of not being able to return the product if I don't receive rebate.
Why would you think you wouldn't get a Menards rebate?

With receipt you can return item anytime and you get in store credit (I know I have had something pruchased a year ago and had no issue returning since I had receipt). within 90 days w/ receipt refund onto card paid with, after 90 days get in store credit. return policy[menards.com]

They don't wait. If the rebate has processed then your return value will show up net of the rebate in their system. If the rebate hasn't processed tou can get full refund.
If you go back 10 years, the rebate system wasn't linked to POS. So the return value was net of the rebate unless the rebate portion of the slip was attached to your receipt still. If it wasn't there then CS removed the value. It's been more modern for at least five years where the system adjusts automatically.
It's different from Home Depot 11% match. They used to process the cards quickly and you'd get gift cards for things you returned immediately. Now Home Depot is waiting a long while to send gift cards; I assume they recognized the issue and couldn't automate it, but figured time would help.
I can't speak to the quality of the tool but if I'm paying 30 for this up front, I would prefer to find a US Made option
I've never had issues with their rebates. They even take my expired rebates! The only thing I dislike is having to mail it because it cost you a stamp & envelope. Wish they could make submissions digital.
Please keep in mind that Menards rebates are for store credit. May bit be a great deal if from outside their area
Yes - pretty useless of folks without access to Menards stores. Here is the rebate language:
"Rebates are provided in the form of a Menards® Merchandise Credit Check valid towards purchases at any Menards® retail store. Not valid for purchases on MENARDS.COM®."
You can't use the rebate merchandise credit even on their own website!
I kind of agree. They take Forever to arrive and who the heck uses Mail In rebates any more? It's not worth the effort and stamp on smaller purchases. The best thing about Menards rebate is that home Depot often matches this, and the rebate is received from them fast in my experience.
I bought the complete 8 piece set in February and they are all rusting. Low quality steel, soft teeth. Buyer beware. Not loving the oil maintenance these need to be rust free.
I wish I could post pictures
