If you ever had a prepaid hotspot or prepaid phone with T-Mobile, the email used with that old account should NOT be used when ordering home internet. You may have problems associating the home internet gateway device with that email address when you receive it and may need to ask for help to fix this or to change the email address. To keep things simple choose a different email address when ordering.
If you have a Sprint account that has not yet migrated to the new T-Mobile system, you may or may not be to enroll in home internet with this deal. Instead T-Mobile will suggest that a family member enroll instead. If that's not possible, T-Mobile can also enroll you at a higher rate of $60 per month.
We had the worst time with this service and had to switch back to cable internet. I spent probably more than 10 hours on the phone over a week with their tech support. It would work fine for a brief moment and then nothing despite appearances that everything was OK. It was a complete nightmare.
My speeds are around 400/40, but it's useless if you do online gaming.
For office and home use and streaming, it works well.
see below. you can do your own research too.
Hello! I apologize that you are having issues with Home Internet. I personally use T-Mobile Home Internet for Gaming, and I can agree with you it can be a little frustrating getting it to work with Video Games if at all. The reason for this (confirmed by a Supervisor from Home Internet department) is because the High-Speed Gateway lacks the "UPnP" feature which in short terms is used to connect to certain aspects of a Video Game such as Chat Systems for example. Without UPnP, video gaming can be tough. T-Mobile is aware of the issue, and they are working on a fix, but don't know when it will be released. I hope my answer has helped. Have a great week!

had issues with the port forwarding. The issue is that t-mobile and others use a carrier grade NAT which will never assign you a public IP when connecting to the internet. You will be assigned a shared IP to WAN which means there is no way to direct any particular port to your device directly. Unless t-mobile offers a service to allow a public or dedicated IP this probably will never be supported, even if the router they provide has it available in their settings
Love my T Mobile home internet....saving $20/mo compared to Spectrum with speeds at least 2 to 7 times faster! (150mbps download up to as high as 500mbps). If you're close to the towers, you'll love it....seems to be hit or miss though, although I've heard more people like it than not.

well sheesh! I just received the equipment today, not yet set it up. Haven't cancelled my cable internet yet. Gonna run them together for 1 month. I'd really love to kick my ISP to the curb... where are you located that it didn't work for you?

Located in the heart of Los Angeles. Went through 2 modems but it wasn't the modem. As of our experience a month ago, the service is not ready for prime time. I was so frustrated by the end with family that depends on the internet.
Keep in mind I get 5G t-mobile internet on my phone perfectly. It's just the home internet that doesn't work. Tech support told me that they are not using the same network, thus the different experiences.
Also the router is really locked down to the very very very basics.

I just signed up, getting half the bars so not such great reception, but getting consistent 200-300 download and 20 upload. This is great if it works for you. Modem is basic but you can plug in whatever router you want
I see some people hating on it and I'll just say this, like cell services if you live in a good coverage area it's great, if you don't, you don't. But there is no contract or risk and I'll say it's worth a try because I have used this for almost 12 months and it's amazing for me. Get 300mbps and I use it for work/zoom/streaming daily. It's the best internet ive ever had compared to century link and comcast at least
Damn nothing at my location. Can't wait until they come to my area to break those monopoly of the cable company. I really don't have any alternatives to cable internet at my place.
Darn it. I just signed up. I will call them to see if they can apply this promotion. My experience has been good so far. I am in the Houston area and my connection has been solid ever since I have connected to the network. If it continues to be reliable then I don't ever need to go back to cable.
Does anyone know how long the turnaround time is for receiving a modem?
Last month, I purchased on the 15th and it was shipped on the 20th. Works out to 2-3 business days. Might be a little longer if the promo becomes popular. Early adopters had 1-3 week waits though IIRC.
So far I'm impressed with my service. There is an irony behind TMobile ISP though, because my understanding is the more people that use the service, the slower the internet speeds eventually become.
I believe they cap new subscribers for each neighborhood to minimize this, but it is part of the reason why I'm not as vocal of a supporter as I could/should be.
