True horsepower will be less that 3/4 from a 5.5amp motor. It is really ridiculous how bad manufacturers are permitted to lie here in America.

Better off spending more for a cordless vac like ryobi/rigid unless you want to use this as a dust buster type vacuum

FYI - in case ever anyone looks back on this thread, I was actually relatively surprised: this is a pretty good vac. sure, it's not a full size unit, but definitely serviceable for small stuff.
