Also, there is still a Harvest Moon series, but that's name only. After the name was purchased the original creators disagreed with the direction it was being taken and split. Thus Story of Seasons was born.

I watched her play a bit and it did indeed have a very Doraemon feel to it. Can't really speak to the gameplay, because those all look the same to me, but she liked it.
