Looks like a good deal, considering it myself since it has upward firing speakers for Dolby 3.1.2 Atmos. Just need to read some reviews on it. It's $450 out of pocket and you get reimbursed with a $50 Costco Cash card which I think takes about 30 days. Hoping my other Costco Cash card arrives for LG 86in before 1/20 to potentially apply to sweeten the deal a little more. I see a lot of people jumping on the Sonos Gen 2 bar for around the same price, but I don't get the hype never owned one and it's not true Atmos. This bar seems like it would be a better solution.

It also says on LG's website this unit is Surround Ready, so may be able to bump it up to 5.1.2 with the purchase of a couple rear speakers like the SN8YG.

Can any owners of this soundbar give their thoughts on their experience with it? Is it worth $400 or is $400 a really good deal? Also, any opinions on how it compares with the Visio M512a-H6?

I own this soundbar that I purchased for the same price on a previous sale before Black Friday. I used a Vizio 5.1 system before also purchased at Costco that would randomly lose connection with my previous TCL TV. I replaced my old soundbar system with this one and TV with a Hisense also from Costco. Overall I like the system and feel it delivers good audio output. Is it worth ~$450 + tax for the "atmos" badge? I'm not an audio expert but a lot of soundbar systems are expensive to start with in my opinion. What I don't actually like about it is that fact that this soundbar seems to have similar issues as my previous Vizio: it will randomly go "mute" either while it's already in use (say if I paused a show and then resumed) or when your power on the TV. The bar shows connected in the TV settings and remote controls everything correctly but there just isn't any audio coming from it. The fix is *always" to unplug the power cord and reconnect it - works 100% of the time just annoying. So I ordered a new one this time around based on this new sale and will have to see if the bar acts the same as my current one. I haven't tried to connect it via Optical cable (only e-ARC) because that means giving up "atmos" as I understood.

I will be staying away from Vizio based on two previous systems acting the same way after a few months and thankfully I got them at Costco which meant I could return them. I still wonder though what is causing these soundbars to randomly decide to go mute and whether it might have to do with ARC/E-ARC connection issues.

I got the Vizio Black Friday $189 deal. I think it's the one you mentioned. I was ready to return it and I realized I think I had the wireless subwoofer facing the wrong way. It seems really directional in terms of making the connection to the sound bar. After I turned the subwoofer around, so it had line of sight of the sound bar, I have not had a single drop out. I previously had a Samsung two. One sound bar that had a wireless subwoofer that was not this susceptible to interference.
