There are only 3 scooters in the market I would personally buy.
G30LP, G30 Max and the m365
If you live in a big city, then I recommend the m365. Which is what I own, I live in nyc. I paid about $400 for mines. It's lightweight which is what I find most important.
I see the G30Lp and max sometimes on the street, they're very nice, but they are way too big to go up and down stairs, subway , buses, buildings, etc…
I also wouldn't spend more then $500 on a scooter.
I agree with other SD'lers this isn't a good price.
Reason why I don't like the other Segway models, like the ES series is cuz they put the battery cells in the steering column, which is very weird, puts the center of gravity in the front of the scooter which promotes forward falls. If you fall on a scooter, it's gonna be forward, making the center of gravity more forward makes a bad problem even worse. These 3 models I like all put their battery cells in the scooter platform.

So far I have only bought my scooters through Costco for their return policy, but Costco only carries the G30LP in the US now.
With the new, higher, list price, inflation, and with gas prices what they are, I'm not optimistic we'll see that again. Too bad; at $750 we're getting close to an entire different class of scooter.
The f40 is a toy compared to this.
The max is highly moddable. Just touch a scooterhacking.org app setting, and it becomes a MUCH more powerful beast.
The F series is pretty much only good for ppl that want to keep the firmware stock.
Otherwise, the Max, Max light, ESx variants- ie. ES1, ES2, ES3, ES4... as well as others, are transformed into tesla launching beasts w/ SHFW. You can download the ScooterHacking app from the google play store
Their discord group, and to a lesser extend their telegram groups, are great for explaining how to use it

Used scooter packs cost pennies on the dollar. And you can wire in externals with XT30/XT60 Y cables (or even place it internally for the max/max light, since it can fit 2 newborns inside that deck)

And any details on wiring externals? Most of the time I'm ok with the internal but sometimes I just need a bit extra range.
I have one and love it. The range is the best in this price range by far, too.
