5 year warranty but only 150 TBW is an odd combo. Must be for low write uses.

Bait and switch. These used to be TLC. Now they're QLC. Also no DRAM.

Seeing all these posts makes me appreciate Microcenter near me. I've been using their Inland SSDs with no issues when I need something right away and can't wait for sale. (Their higher end stuff) even their low end stuff has been great in my kids computer.

it is hard to know what chips might be currently shipping in the 500gb one. I just ordered one cause it is cheap and you never know when you might need one.

I will post what chips it has when I receive, unless someone else got one recently

You have a 1600 on a board with nvme?

If you're on a mechanical hard drive, this all the way. If you're on a SSD already (even a SATA one) this won't have much impact. Definitely less compared to the boost from a faster CPU if you're already running an SSD, but you're also not going to find a faster CPU for $43.

Not a bad price. But I personally prefer the P1 even though it's technically slower. It has dram cache and has hugely faster smaller file type 4k read write speeds which makes it a very snappy drive. But it's not 40$ like this. I would take one of these as a budget drive over other budget drives out there

No I do not. I am just considering one over the other. I have a Samsung SSD right now. I was curious if the Nvme would make things faster or a faster cpu would make a bigger difference. I am considering the Ryzen 3600.

The WD SN550 has been at or around this price point a few times. It also had some questionable component swaps. But has the advantage of 2x the endurance at 300 TBW and the same 5 year warranty.
The SN550 is also faster spec-wise. WD rates it for 2400/1750 MB/s read/write while the P2 500 GB is only rated for 2300/940 MB/s.
