Pretty common now when there are multiple versions of the game. It reflects the complete edition, but some of the stuff might be locked.

Sure. I bought it when it was on sale in December. Granted there are some issues (aside from graphics). Load times are annoying, and playing it with the joy con is a pain.

But all I've got is a switch and I'm an MK fan, so I can see past the inconveniences. With that you get very customizable characters (visually and in move set), with characters from the 95 movie DLC (not included in Ultimate except Shang Tsung), a decent story mode, a very solid fighting experience, plenty to unlock, and portability. Roster wise, I think MK X was better, there are some fighters I really miss (Kenshi, Ermac). But the DLC fighters are pretty cool here.

Full price? Hell no. $18? (really $21 for the movie DLC skins to go on sale for $3) if you got a pro controller, go for it. Unless you have any other modern video game system. Then get it for that.

But if I buy the the ultimate version I don't get the privelege of shelling out $10 for each downloadable character. I sold my base physical copy last time the ultimate was on sale because I needed to play the Terminator and Rambo!

Ah, so weird it says ultimate when it boots up, my brother has the regular (not digital) I have to check what his says.
Do I have to buy to unlock those, no way to complete challanges to get them right?
