One warning: there's one typical jrpg trope in this game that bugs me a lot, and that is the fact that there are some missable quests. Granted that's because this type of game is meant to be played multiple times. The Nintendo switch doesn't do trophy achievements though, so if you're the type of gamer who insists on doing everything in one play through and don't want to miss anything, there is a spoiler free guide out there you can follow to obtain a missable weapon. The quest requires double digit amount of steps that start early in the game (stupid, I know). Google something along the lines of tales of Vesperia spear quest.

But buyer beware - the Definitive Edition is still just a remaster of a game that came out in 2008 so a lot of the game mechanics / design feel quite old and clunky for 2022. This could be a huge turn-off for some players so you may as well watch some normal gameplay videos.
I played this on PC via Steam so can't comment on how it plays on Switch.
