For the people asking; all you really need sideloaded on these sticks is Kodi and your IPTV player nowadays. For IPTV, Tivimate is the best player out there (the premium version). And Kodi works brilliantly with Real Debrid and an addon like Venom, The Oath, or Shadow. Many IPTV services have on demand sections now too. So you get every live TV channel plus on demand movies and TV shows. Just add in Netflix or Hulu or Disney+ or whatever else paid app you want and you're good to go. I recommend using Wolf Launcher if you don't want to see all the annoying Amazon garbage on your homescreen.

Check out AFTNews Fire TV benchmarks. I'd expect the 2021 Max version to be close to the top.

I don't get what the differences are between these products.. they all sound the same to me. Is the only real diff between the 4k and non 4k the output resolution?

I bought the new Max one. I think it has some extra ram, which is good for me because I live outside the US and run a VPN to use the streaming apps. I think the wifi is upgraded as well and the remote has some new buttons (like a d+ button).

Pretty much yes. 4k vs HD. Other than that, New vs Used is the other major difference between the products.

Yeah, the max is much faster. I set one up for my brother and was very surprised by the difference in responsiveness.

I have the 4k square dongle and the 2018 4K and I'm probably going to buy the Max when it drops to $35 again. Fire devices have always had more lag than Apple TV, Roku etc but the fact that you can sideload apps easily and run a VPN means I always have one plugged into the TV. The Max is the first one I have used that could actually compete with Apple TV for responsiveness.

They are selling the fire tv box I just traded in, it lags like hell and comes with free gunk inside the remote battery compartment
