The 48 laws of power could appropriately be renamed "The sociopath's guide to success". One of the most coniving and destructive books I've read. To be fair, I stopped at law 18, so I shouldn't say I've read the whole thing.

I wouldn't recommend the book to anyone on how to conduct yourself, but there is a small benefit to reading it: you'll begin to identify those around you that subscribe to this way of doing business, and it will help you avoid falling into their traps.

It's one of my favorite books!

It is a great guide to prepare yourself for manipulative toxic people as well as a good history lesson.

Daring Greatly is one of my favorites. Her other book, Rising Strong, is the book I wish I could give to the world, but she already has! The Audible books read by Brené are also well done. Her podcasts mentioned by another slickdealer above, often have good book recommendations (she often interviews authors and thought leaders). Sometimes they're kinda rambley or disjointed. Generally worth my time tho.

I think you will be very pleased. There are some significant differences from the films, but it also adds so much texture to the story. Reading the book made me appreciate the films so much more, because the films have these little moments that are full subplots in the book. Huge respect to Coppola for including them, almost like little easter eggs.
