Are these still proprietary motherboards, cases and power supplies that you can't upgrade in a few years?

Motherboard is micro ATX as mentioned here. PSU is custom though.

550W? At least 600W would have given a lot more room for upgrades, especially cause you CAN'T UPGRADE THE DAMN THING

Normally when you buy these kind of Pre-Built, they come with PSU wattage which can power the configuration you're buying, not with the wattage which you think of upgrading it to. If you buy the ones with RTX 3070 or higher, it comes with 750W or even a 1000W version.

Now regarding your frustration about you can't upgrade this, may be you need to spend a bit time in researching rather than blabbering here. Hope the below video will help you.

Really nice specs for the price. That case design leaves a lot to be desired. It reminds me of an air purifier instead of a PC

This is actually not a bad deal, Considering what is out there at the same price proprietary or not.

I own the R10. The only suggestion would be the liquid cooling upgrade as it can be quite loud otherwise. This is a good deal. Mine came with a 550W, 3070 and 3700X. I've added an additional 1660 Ti and 3TB HDD. It runs fine. I may upgrade the PSU at some point which is easy to do. The RAM is proprietary so you'll have to get all new matching sticks if you need more. 16GB has been plenty for me.

Nexus gaming I believe did a video on this tower. It has numerous serious design issues. Worth watching the video, but absolutely do not buy this with air cooling for the cpu. You will have significant overheating and thermal throttling event at modest workloads.

This has an extra coupon. It's a pretty decent deal.

Don't do it. I bought an R12 last year and ended up reselling the GPU and PC separately. Super loud, runs too hot (even water-cooled), chassis is huge/heavy, fans are few and underperform, inside is compact and awkward.

For the price, the specs are really good

A 3060 alone is already $700-800
5800x $350ish

Just those two parts are already almost the price of the entire built computer

Now the quality of the PC itself might be chit as a prebuilt dell.

But price wise for specs its great

Given the bad review of the case, just wondering can I replace/move everything to another case? Is the mb/PSU hole all standard? TIA.
