This is a DRAM-less QLC SATA drive, but it's dirt cheap and it's somewhat of a brand-name. Endurance is 200TBW for the 960GB version of the drive (not on sale). So if you need a low-priced SATA SSD to upgrade a hard-drive computer, this could be a cheap way to do that.

The 480GB is here:

I liked they way you presented this deal. It is was it is--an entry level SSD model from a decent brand at a great price. Sure you can better ones for about $10 more, but that represents a 30-50% price difference.

Got 1 240 and 1 480gb. I bought 4 240gb in the past. For a regular person. Theses are great ssds. As in your girlfriend laptop or your moms old aio tower . Like he said upgrading an old hard drive. Ssds are cheap buy a new one every 3 years and you wont have problems .

no, you would need m.2 pci-e 4.0 stick to play current gen titles.

Wow with this low quality, I wouldn't consider this "dirt cheap"...If you factor in the potential hassle down the road. After all you need to consider the cost when it fails. 200TBW for 1TB drive is a little too much for my heart to handle.

looking to snag about a dozen of these for work (previous IT person bought workstations with crappy laptop HDDs instead of SSDs.. unthinkable!).

not really concerned with TBW, but does anyone have experience with these in a similar environment?

Reading reviews seem like the 240Gb drive fails early - less than a year. I think I will pass.

You should read the latest review on this drive. The buyer bought a bunch of these and half failed less than a year.

Not sure where you got that metric from, but per ADATA [amazon.com], the TBW ratings for the SU635 model are:
- 240GB Drive: 140 TBW
- 480GB Drive: 210 TBW
- 960GB Drive: 500 TBW

Nothing to brag about, but wanted to make sure you weren't misinformed.
