Now $359 instead of $409.
It comes with two 5Ah 18V Makita batteries. The chain saw uses both and runs at 36V, but you can of course use the batteries for all other 18V Makita tools as well.
  • Makita-built outer rotor BL Brushless motor direct-drive system provides high power efficiency Equivalent to a 32cc gas chain saw
  • Variable speed trigger and high chain speed (0 - 3940 FPM) For improved cutting performance
  • "Tool-less" Chain adjustment for convenient operation and maintenance
  • Built-in lock-off lever helps prevent the chain from accidentally engaging
  • Built-in L.E.D. On/off switch with auto power-off function; automatically shuts the saw off when operation is delayed for extended Battery life

I had one of these saws for a few months. It is plenty powerful but it's pretty awkwardly weighted and can't be used one handed at all. Battery life is decent, probably about 45 minutes of operation per full 5.0 charge.

For this kind of money, you can get into a farm/ranch grade saw that can do so much more than this battery saw.

Yeah its just ok price. I got this when they were giving out 2 free batteries (so 4 batteries total) and it was still cheaper than this price.

I picked up the tool only for $150 from Parr lumber during their year end sale. It has been that price from them before. If you're in the PNW I would keep an eye on their website.
