My first battery strap battery died within 3 months, replacement process was painless. Been using the replacement almost daily for 10 months now with no issues, wouldn't call it trash quality (except maybe the first batch). To each their own.
Check out the AUBIKA strap.
First off, elite strap is garbage. Only minor differences from the OEM fabric head strap and many people say that the plastic attachments that lock onto the headset itself are brittle and break. There are FAR Superior third party headset straps on amazon for around $30, and higher-end headset rigs for about $36 to $40.
A difference of $60 is ridiculous for adding a battery, to say nothing about how limited the battery actually is. You can get a much better head strap that has a battery mount compartment on the back that can fit almost any standard battery pack (and you can easily swap out dead/charged batteries on the go) for around $30, which makes both of these "Elite" products irrelevant, even if they had been good products in the first place. 👎

You could grab a Vive Deluxe Audio Strap on sale (~$60) and the 3D-printed adapters for $15 (I use this with 10K mAh battery for balance and 6-7 hours playtime).
Kiwi Elite Strap for $42 [amazon.com]
Halo designs like the GOMRVR for $20 [aliexpress.com]. The benefit of this style is that it takes all the weight off your face and puts it on your skull.
Some options even have removable batteries or decent headphones.

Deluxe Audio Strap, originally made for HTC Vive. Then you can buy adapters to make it work on Quest 2.
