The best time to buy a previous year flagship TV according to youtuber "Stop the FOMO" is on Prime day, take it FWIW
If you arent looking to buy the top of the line TV tech which will be QD-OLED for 2022 then the advances made from the 2021 models to the 2022 models are very slim
You can wait until the LG C2 comes out and try to snag a C1 at a further discounted price than this but it wont be more than $500 cheaper.
For reference search in Slickdeals for LG CX and see what the sale prices are when the C1 was for sale.
The most recent sale for the LG CX (2020 model) in January of 22 was $1000 for refurbished 55" LG CX.
Or you could pay $1300 for a brand new LG C1 (2021 model) on sale (Black Friday/current prices)
If saving $200-300 is important then wait until the newer models come out and wait for a clear out of older stock but doubt you will see huge savings off the current sale prices of the C1/A80J OLEDs
