There are only 3 product reviews on Walmart, so I searched to see who else is selling it (not many places). There are 11 Amazon reviews [amazon.com] and the second review reports that the base is plastic and cracked quickly:

However, the product description says "Solid brass body for durability". Maybe the entire faucet is metal except this ring (and they didn't count the plastic ring as part of the faucet? ... seems odd). This could still be good if there's a reasonable METAL ring that could fit as a replacement for this plastic piece and still look good.

Do any of you have this faucet and have experience to share?

The 4" centerset is OOS. These are both discontinued models but do carry a lifetime warranty. Any issues with breakage should be covered by Grohe (as is mentioned in the afformentioned Lowes reviews).

Grohe is generally an excellent company with quality materials. Maybe they are starting to cheapen out?

OP, need to add 'YMMV' as this is oos in lots of places, none within 100 miles of me in S. Jersey. idk what brand my bathhroom faucets are, but they are dead ringers looks wise for this one, and they have held up for years just fine.

I have been happy with HansGrohe fixtures. Note Grohe is a different company but I think they have a good reputation as well. (Two separate companies resulted from some family dispute I think, founder Hans Grohe's second son went off and bought the company that would eventually be called Grohe and competed with his dad.)

Bought the brushed nickel.

Grohe has some top quality stuff but the low end stuff sold by Walmart is no better than the $100 Lowes and HD "blue light special." I just completed a bathroom with Grohe Atrio, it's real nice stuff.
