I personally don't like the popcorn out of these hot air machines, it's just dry and you can't add any sugar that actually sticks to the popcorn.

For the price it's ok for someone who wants to try though.

Unless you're using spray butter, you better really like the taste of dry popcorn.

I personally like plain popcorn, but I've also used various spray oils/butters for flavor on occasion. I've found the various powder toppings to be hopeless for air pop popcorn.

One component that isn't a throwback in this hot air popper is an integral power switch. This hasn't been a feature for most of the models I've owned, and could itself justify the price. I've previously purchased external plug-in switches for my air poppers.
