Controller $40, xgp $20, so it is $649-50-20-40=$539+tax for an Xbox console. Better than eBay($560) but still not good enough

Where exactly can you get a new first party XSX controller for $40? They're $60 everywhere.

I am passing on this deal but let's recognize this means GameStop isn't selling out on its crap bundles so they are trying lower tiers to cash grab whole they can. I'll expect next week they will have specials of just the console for PUR members.

That's not true you can return any individual non-digital item (like the controller). You will get a packing slip that itemizes each physical item. Their system does not restrict the return and the employees will not say anything unless you actually bring it to their attention that it's a bundle (like a dumbass).

I returned the extra controller and cheapo headset from my bundle in December with no issues or questions asked. Can't return the gift card or XBox card though. And I was stuck with the games because they were codes.

If I could teleport over there and trade my X1X for $330 or whatever they are still offering, I'd probably consider it. But even with that, can't really justify it.

I did trade in my OG XB1 with an extra controller and kinect for close to $200 and picked up the Series S a couple weeks ago. I liked that $100 upgrade. Probably not worth it for $300+ cost after trade in here.

It seems like they've removed that functionality at the end of last year..I bought a PS5 bundle from them in December and was able to use the gift card towards Sony gift cards but I can't anymore.

This bundle is good indeed as you can get 8% ($50) cash back from some cashback website. Also the controller can be returned in store. With 9% tax, console only will be $685 - $50 (cash back) - $50 (return controller) - $50 (gamestop gc) = $535 with 3 month game pass and $15 gamestop reward. Lower if you have lower tax rate.

Valid question. Amazon Warehouse, gotta camp and refresh few times a day for those $25-$35 options. I've had all of mine come brand new with slight box damage. I've even seen brand new elite series 2 as low as $70 but am never quick enough on those.
