I got this model without the remote start from tractor supply for a bit less around the holidays, only used it once but seems like a really good generator. The wheel kit is a must, I thought I could muscle it around and that got old fast.

I get the price difference, but is there really any choice other than Honda or Yamaha in generators just for the sound difference alone? I cannot imagine camping or doing anything with a normal generator in 2022.

The craftsman inverter generators are insanely quiet. I have the 2500w champion dual fuel inverter and it is not as quiet as I thought it would be, but holy hell the craftsman is a quiet one

Most other closed frame inverter will have comparable sound levels to Honda inverter generators.

Anyway to turn on a portable generator on as soon as there's power loss while not at home? Looking to see if I can use it as a backup solution for a sump during power failure when not at home.

I hate the idea of spending $500 on backup batteries for a sump that don't get used for anything else, and need to get replaced every few years.

I am wondering if I should just pay $200 more and get the Firman Tri-Fuel from Costco. The ability to run on natural gas is a huge plus when using it for powering my home during an outage.
On the flip side, that model is not inverter based - so will likely be more noisy with some THD. Tradeoffs!

I got the Champion duel fuel 2kW inverter generator after reading about how quiet it is and watching youtube videos about how great it is. It was a lot louder than I thought it'd be. They advertise 53dB, but when I ran mine I was getting 62dB, so that's over twice as loud. I was not impressed.

I bought a Champion 200914 from Amazon warehouse last October for $475. It's currently $690 new, $640 like new. I think mine was listed as "good" condition.
