I would play Planescape over Neverwinter, and after Planescape, I would play Baldur's Gate. I think Neverwinter is the weakest of the three.
All are on sale.
I have this game on PC, played it not long after release and had great fondness of its storyline. Tried to play it again a year or so ago and the graphics and mechanics just didn't age well at all.
I played all these when they first came out, and I think this mini review is on point.
Planescape had the most interesting story and characters of all the D&D games of the time. Great writing all around, but I didn't feel compelled to replay it after I beat it once. Haven't played it in years, but I bet it holds up well.
The BG series is just immense. I've played the series multiple times, on different platforms, the past couple of decades. It's hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay. The writing isn't as consistent throughout (highlight being the Shadows of Amn), but there many memorable characters and moments. The game starts you as a first level squishy and leaves you as a god by the end of the final xpac. Incredible journey.
Neverwinter was a letdown. The core story paled in comparison to prior D&D games. I believe there were some well received fan made modules that you could download, but not sure if those are included in this edition. Having said that I know there are plenty of folks who have fond memories of this game.

so on the fence with this...fond memories but havnt touched in years ...kinda wanna leave the allure of it in the nostalgia part of my mind before reality ruins it... does it hold up? does it age well enough to prove me wrong?

Also - for someone who has never played, worth it?

That seems to be the typical consensus. These Infinity Engine games are decent ports but you need to go in understanding that modern quality of life elements won't be there.
Alright slickdeals plebs, what say you the contents of this review?

Notable this is the 'Enhanced Edition', so if you are replaying an original copy - this will look and play MUCH better.
I've replayed NWN multiple times since 2002 (PC, Mac, Android, enhanced), including most recently on iPad - which is basically the same version. It is an excellent game - very much of that era, and even in 2002 the graphics were good but not cutting edge as the focus was on the larger RPG experience.
As noted all of the D&D games for Switch are on sale, I haven't played any yet but have played them on tablet (iPad) and for me NWN is the most 'modern' feeling, and through the years I prefer BG2 over Planescape, but that is me - and they feel the least 'enhanced' but still work. They (BG 1/2 and PS:T) feel pretty out of place on a touchscreen or controller for me, so I prefer them on the PC/Mac. NWN works a bit better but would still be better on a computer.
