I personally like the compact brushless HP model a lot better (it's now $75.99 and dont forget the $10 shipping). They feel better in hand, lighter, smaller, more powerful with better motor life/efficiency. I also like that the included batteries on the compact brushless have an LED fuel gauge and the 1.5Ah's that come with the brushed set do not. It's just a much nicer set all around.

I do however like the extra 4Ah HP battery especially if you have some HP tools. So its really a personal preference as both sets will do the same job and value wise, you are getting more bang for the buck as long as you dont mind all the differences listed.

In the end, the extra 4Ah battery wouldnt win me over though as I'd prefer to save the $14 to have the better tools and the newer version batteries that come with them. Good luck with whichever you choose!

Pretty good price that includes a newer tech battery. These are great if you have friends/neighbors that borrow tools often and forget to return. DT has lots of factory refurbs right now for cheap also.

I was planning on getting the brushless compact set from DTO $73 but this seems better. Anyone have opinion between this and compact brushless versions?

Thanks for posting.

This is a better deal for the 3rd battery alone... The brushless tools are nicer, but this is a better deal.

I got the brushed ones as my first Ryobi tools. They work okay, but I have switched to brushless tools in the last few years using HP batteries. Now I have duplicates in 3 tools including the drill and driver. The brushless ones are more powerful but you need the HP batteries for that.

This seems like a great deal, if for no other reason than the HP 4Ah battery.

I got one of the full size brushless drill/drivers from DTO when it was $56 https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com...t/PBLDD01B and one of the P215 standard drill/drivers for $14 refurb from DTO. The full size brushless has a lot more torque, and a bit more speed, and its more solidly made compared to the standard brushed one. But, the brushed one gets the job done and is nice to have as a beater. For most homeowners, and most jobs, you wont see a difference. I prefer the bigger 4Ah batteries on mine (I pair the brushless with the PBP004 and the brushed with a standard 4Ah)- makes them a bit heavier, but better balanced.

Where does it say it is Brushless? I could not find it in the description of the product so was wondering.

It's not brushless. I'd be so buying this if it was, since I already own the brushed version of these tools already

Great deal if you are just getting into the battery tool game. The 2ah are perfectly fine for most use. Besides my hammer drill, circular saw and leaf blower, I generally use the 2ah as they are much lighter and have never had an issue completing a job without the battery dying.
