The cables on some of the low cost Tascam headphones have a bad smell coming from the high VOC cheap plastic cable. I have a pair of TH-MX2 that still smell horrible after 6 years. Most people wouldn't notice it though. Otherwise, really great sounding headphones. Too much off gassing for me though.
