No problem. Yeah good point even with the $4.95 shipping it's still a bargain also I forgot to mention some treats rewards members might have stackable coupons in their email. I didn't need any substrate at the moment but I got a 4.52lb bucket of Tetra Tropical Flake Food for $26.94 shipped. 35% AutoShip brought it to $27.49 then a treats 20% off brought it to $21.99 and with ship it was $26.94. Killer deal. 💪🏻💪🏻

I always use pool filter sand, which I believe this is about the same grit as. The Caribsea does "look" better in my opinion, but to your question: it's best to fill a new tank with it nad let it all settle before starting the filter. If you're adding it to an existing tank, do it a little at a time. Look up videos of how to add substrate to an existing tank with 2L bottle.

Is it? I use pool filter sand and figured they were around the same grit and weight. With the filter sand, I just swirl the siphon above the spots I want to vacuum and never stick the siphon into the sand.

They have tiny gravel/river pebbles too there's like 5 or 6 varieties I think all $18.99 for a 50lb bag.

Will get back into hobby with my old 20gl tank. May be convert to an 29g.

What is Optimal tank size to use 50lbs? I might get a 55g tank in near future and thinking of this is really good price to stash it now?

The standard recommendation is 1 lb per gallon. You might as well get a 55gal and 2x 20gals then buy 2 bags haha. I'm up to 7 tanks now it's soooooooooooooo addicting lol.

Yes, any of these Caribsea substrates would work just find the one that you think would look best. The link goes to sand but they have a few that look like tiny river rock pebbles and bigger grains of sand. On this product page scroll down to similar items and it will show you some. Just make sure it's 50lbs for $18.99 cuz they had some 20lb bags for the same price as well.
