Would like to know as well. I have a payboo card which makes the wd tax free but intel ssds are better quality than WD from personal experience.

Whether IBM SSDs are better quality or not, WD has a 5yr warranty on the drive, which should even outlast the average laptop's components life, or at least the battery if people are not savvy enough to maintain and upgrade such parts for repair.
Not saying pro WD, but genuinely wondering which would be the better buy between this and the WD since the price range is similar, while the speeds are better on paper for the WD at least.
I've had a good experience with my Intel SSD's on my desktop, over 9years of service, and still going strong.
I'd pick this one over the WD. You know what you are getting here.
Not sure about the WD, but I know that this one has an SLC cache. It won't make a huge difference, but it will be a slight grade above standard QLC drives.
I bought this drive on this date in 2019, and put in in a 2015 MacBook Pro. It's been a champ. I just last week swapped it out for a 4tb drive.
It was reliable and a huge performance upgrade.
I bought 2 of these a few years ago. Damm good drive for the price. I am buying another one now.
The drive is qlc with an elastic slc cache. The more empty the drive, the more slc cache you have. As long as you write less than half the slc cache at one time, it is as fast as a drive costing %50 more. I dislike it during the first day when I had to move all the data from my old drive. Thinking back, I should have moved them in multiple smaller pieces.
Recommend this one for: os drive, gaming drive, storage drive.
Would not recommend for: nas drive (I have a 10gbits network), enthusiasts drives.

Not that this site is perfect, but the performance difference does seem like it might be worth it. The write speed is significantly better.
Edit: sorry I didn't include the link

660p has faster sustained writes though, so if you have larger files to move it might be better. it's a bit of a toss up between these.

No. There are only a few that meet the standards and I think sony only recommended 1 of them.
