The serving sizes on most packaged foods are not realistic / reflective of how people actually eat. Total calories of 19,810 /12 (4 people * 3 meals / day) = 1650 calories per day. Adequate for an emergency situation.

I think the units you used in your calculations got a bit jumbled. You took calories divided by people-days (at 3 meals a day) and came up with calories per day (rather than calories per person-day at 3 meals a day). It's coming out to at 1650 calories per day, a bucket would be good for 12 people-days (4 people for 3 days, 1 person for 12 days, etc.) Essentially in a pinch, a couple of people could get the better part of a week out of a bucket if they really stretched it.

I'm not knocking the wisdom of preparedness, especially after just having a work trip through one of the towns devastated by tornados last month, but I am echoing the sentiments that it's important to take a moment to figure out how long something would last for your given situation.

The calories they calculate in these things are for the average size person so they don't starve. I recommend 1 possible 2 other buckets to compliment this one. They should be filled with candy bars, beer (Someone needs to put beer in Tetra packs for the prepper) and Velveeta and chips! And if possible and available in your area you should invest in a couple buckets of evaporated water. Just open a bucket and add water and shazam! You have water.

For camping and backpacking I would personally look for something with more protein. This is intended more as a shelter in place / get you fed with minimal exertion option.

Correct but I am just giving a heads up to those who think this box has 10-6 standard servings which is usually a decent amount of people.

Unless you are planning to eat this 10 years after the initial emergency, it is much more economical and practical to keep a rotating stock of 10lb of pasta + 10 cans of tuna/chicken + 3 lbs of dried fruits + 2 bottles of multi-vitamins + amino acids for an equivalent or better nutrition. These have a shelf life of 2-3 years and can easily be eaten as part of regular diet and replaced cheaply.

15 pouches - 15 meals. Looking at the servings sizes, someone mentioned it above it's for survival, not for stocking the shelves. That one pouch of Fettucine Alfredo has 4 servings.... only half a cup. That's a baby food jar! I'm going to need two pouches just to be full. So really good for camping. So it's $4 for a pouch of food.

This is exactly what I started doing. I also added in the sealed salmon bags. If I consume one of these I simply buy one when we go the store again
