While I would love to pull the trigger on this laptop, I was scared away from ordering directly from HP.com by the OMEN 17 debacle a week or so back. Not so much that it didn't ship as that they enforce the restocking fee. I am particular about my copies of electronics. For example, badly uneven light bleed from backlit keyboards drive me crazy and the ability to not return without penalty is a non starter for me.
EDIT: They can't even get the photos right for this item.
This is indeed a pretty good Laptop. Envy has better build quality and style than Pavilion Aero series. Now coupled with a slightly higher TDP for the Processor, bigger battery and 2-in-1 form factor, if you need a 2-in-1 360 laptop, this is a very good choice.

so for laptop Ryzen, 5xxx is desktop 4xxx series and 6xxx that's coming will match desktop 5xxx series performance. Right?
You understanding is not entirely correct here. For laptop Ryzen 5000 series, there are two versions, mixture of Zen 2 (desktop 4000 series) and Zen 3 which has exact same architecture as the desktop 5000 series. This model has 5800U which has same exact architecture of Desktop 5000 series.
In laptop 5000 series U Processors, say 5X00U is the model number, if X is a odd number, it is based on Zen 2 (Desktop 4000 series), like Ryzen 7 5700u, Ryzen 5 5500u and if X is an even number, like Ryzen 7 5800u, Ryzen 5 5600u, that is based on Zen 3, same as Desktop 5000 series.
Upcoming Ryzen 6000 series is based on a Zen 3+ architecture which is a modest iteration over existing Zen 3 and based on even an more power efficient 6nm node and there is no desktop version for it. Desktop will be having Zen 4 directly and will be launching 2nd half of this year.
This one checks the boxes for most people who need a good productivity laptop. Wish it came with Thunderbolt port though. This can handle 4k at 60hz but not 120hz.

It can handle 4K @ 120Hz using a Type-C to DP 1.4 adapter. The Type-C port supports DisplayPort 1.4 which can run two 4K monitors at 60Hz or one with 120Hz.
