I actually enjoyed watching the 1980 series, but I was pretty young at the time. I remember being entranced at the idea that some cylon scouts discovered them on Earth, and were going to contact the main Cylon fleet. It will be interesting watching it as an adult, observing my kids watching it.

The 2000's BSG was one of our favorite TV shows of all time. I have never watched the original. Is it good? Is it going to ruin it?

It won't ruin how you feel about the reboot Stick Out Tongue
I personally love the 80s Tv movies and show, but they are "of a certain time" that would definitely make them best viewed through nostalgia glasses.

I'm scared of these 'remastered in widescreen' videos because I'm afraid of losing context from above and below what we are seeing. For example, the Simpsons 'widescreen remaster' was a complete abomination.

The original show is mostly tolerable if you grew up during that era and keep your expectations low. It was made in the wake of Star Wars' success. I think a lot of younger viewers will find it disappointing, especially coming from the 2000's reboot.

The season 1 digital was on sale on Amazon Prime video for $5 back in 2019. If you think you purchased it and forgot about it it's worth checking to see if you own it before you overpay for blu-rays.

I don't know, I think about $1 an episode for blu-ray is a pretty decent price, especially given that it is
a) almost $20 less than the Amazon price, &
b) it is a hard copy version that you can lend out to your friends, or watch someplace where there is no Internet for streaming
