Two stores in Ocala Fl are showing the $50 price but others in the area are all $99 as well.
The biggest issue I have with the PowerXL is the uneveness of the cooking-- food on the upper basket shelf is different than the middle basket, which is also different than the bottom basket. This is for the same food on all 3 baskets -- It doesn't cook evenly. Also it doesn't seem to cook evenly even in the same basket-- looks like the food on the outside is hotter than that in the middle. The instruction manual doesn't say much about how this cooks such that it will need some type of rotation or shaking of baskets hence I would assume it would cook evenly across all baskets in which it does not.
Second issue I have are the preset settings-- doesn't seem to be ideal for the things I've tried. Everything I've put into it looks to be undercook when using the presets-- not sure if it's because it's a basket placement thing or what but the preset settings aren't good. So I've been using manual settings.
Third-- with manual settings seems many things are still undercooked. I follow the air fryer instructions from the packaging with their recommended settings and this PowerXL seems to still undercook. When using the same packaging instructions for my InstantPot, works great with no issues.
TL;DR this is a good price for the PowerXL air fryer for being 12qt alone. However it's not as good an air fryer as my InstantPot from a frying perspective-- you really need to intervene in the middle of the cooking to either move things around or shake things around to have it cook evenly.
