Found this curved tension rod for not much more (and I'd forgotten that this was on my to-upgrade list of things for the house), so I grabbed it instead to avoid drilling into my tile.

I bought this last week for $24. I installed it. It's really nice. It came with sheetrock anchors that are actually good enough to work. I find this to be a rarity.
We had the same issue but were able to mount it just above the tile (into drywall) and just make sure we bought taller shower curtains.

Obviously if your tile goes all the way to the ceiling, YMMV.

But even then, you can mount a couple of small blocks into the grout, then mount the rod to the blocks. Grout is much easier and more predictable than tile to fix (and avoid damaging).

We have old shower rods from the previous owners that are rusting, so this is just what we need. Thanks!

I've had this one for several years and highly recommend this type. Works MUCH better than standard straight rods — keeps the shower curtain away from your body while showering.

I didn't want to drill holes either, so I bought heavy duty velcro (3M) strips that hold up to 16 lbs. I put two on each side and it hasn't budged (non-tile). It holds two curtains fine. Tip: Angle the curve of the bar just a bit above the horizon so that when you add curtains or someone accidentally tugs on it, it won't lower to the point where you have to readjust it.

Edit: Sorry just noticed this has to be screwed in and doesn't come with a tension knob. I have the tension one.

Installed this (through tile - for those boo-hooing about that) in my last place. Super secure even in the face of kiddos pulling on the curtain. Looks great, easy install, quality materials. Only concern is last time I ordered this a couple of months ago Amazon never fulfilled it, then sent the wrong finish, then it was oos. In for two, hoping they are fulfilled, thanks OP!

Had this for awhile but ended up replacing it with the non-adjustable version that you trim to length because this one has a lip that catches the shower curtain every time you close it.
