They couldn't pay me enough to sign up with AHS. Bunch of incompetent contractors and lousy customer service. One Word: Run! Save your $
To echo this: my neighbors have used AHS, TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CS, took 4 weeks to get their washer repaired, 2 weeks in the dead of winter for furnace, and they give them the run around. Takes HOURS (not even exaggerating) to get a hold of someone over seas. Please do NOT waste your life on this garbage company. They need to be burnt down to hell. And this is me being nice.
I cannot overstate how bad AHS is. They must actually try to find the lowest rated most incompetent contractors because it's impossible to be this bad by mistake. OP - you are doing society a huge injustice by promoting these clowns.

Totally agree. I am dealing with their lousiness right now. My dishwasher stopped working on March 29. They hired an incompetent contractor who came to my house after 2 weeks, spend 30 seconds to decide that a motor is broken. The motor has still not arrived. No ETA. So 5 weeks have passed and no ETA on when my dishwasher will be fixed. The cashout they are offering is $183 to buy a new dishwasher.
Had it, AC failed, they sent a terrible tech that said the cost of repair would be thousands and it may not fix the issue. How that's insurance is beyond me, but AHS said they'd review and instead closed the service as "complete". Not only are they that bad, but then you have to spend ages canceling and the whole time explaining that it's because they literally won't do the thing you are paying them to do. As stated earlier, they rely on terrible service people to juice people for more money or cancel after they've already gotten your money and not pay out for service. Unless you go to arbitration you aren't getting that money back and they know most won't. Practically a mob business.

and when you cancel the service, they will deduct all the promotions and $75 processing fee from refund. You'd be lucky to get few $ as refund even though you never used the service.
I've had a horrible experience as well with AHS, however, once you learn how the whole "game" works, you can actually get value out of the service.
My experience --
We had a vent hood fan go out and they sent out technicians from two different companies, both who basically did nothing and said that they needed to be paid more in order to get service. The third company was actually a reputable one and this third company informed us that AHS generally will choose the first two vendors to be companies that are happy to take your $75 service fee and perform no service or upsell you on a "replacement and installation" half of it which won't be covered by the home insurance. This is just the way the business works.
My second experience --
The second time around I had no intention of allowing myself get stuck in the first process so I called around locally and found a garage door repair company that was willing to do the work and had a relationship with AHS. However, AHS still gave me the runaround and insisted that they send the repair company of THEIR choice which ended up being a vendor which offered to replace my garage door for $2,000. Of course I said get the hell out of my house and was able to convince AHS through a few hours on the phone that I wanted to use the vendor that I found earlier. Eventually they replaced my entire garage door opener, but not without me having to pretend to be the vendor and calling AHS pretending that I worked at the garage door repair company on AHS's vendor hotline.
You can get great value out of this service if you know how to work the system. Otherwise, stay away!
Terrible company - had to get Attorney's General office involved to get refund of the service fee and cancellation fees back. Signed up with First American Home Warranty and after 2 service calls, I can say that I had generally good experience with them.
FWIW, I actually had a good experience with AHS. I decided to be proactive and replace a dying water heater. They sent someone out two days after I called them and the contractor confirmed that the heater indeed needed to be replaced. AHS offered me two options: have their contractor replace it or cut me a check and let me do my own thing. I chose the latter, found a contractor to install me a Bradford White heater, paid him, and a check from AHS came a week later. All in all, just know what to expect from these guys and you can get your money's worth.

I heard of people here in the west that their AC go out on 110-degree day and it's a weeks before they come out to even look at it.
Both cases you can't wait weeks you call a contractor out and just have it fixed on your own dime.
