The description states "Use either the HDMI® or VGA port to connect an external display". Can this item (Consul Series USB-C Travel Dock with HDMI, VGA, Gigabit Ethernet, 2-Port USB 3.0, SD/MicroSD Reader, USB-C 100W PD 3.0) support connecting more than one external display? Thank you.

BEST ANSWER: This Adapter is designed to allow the versatility to connect either a VGA or an HDMI connection while on the go, and will only allow for one display to connect through to the host device.
If two displays are connected, the adapter will default to the HDMI connection
I have a P14 2nd Gen intel laptop that I got from this site last year, I think it has a display port and I bought a USB Type 3 adapter like what was shown in the ad but it keeps reconnecting often, also I get some errors about display port settings.
I wondering if my laptop has a USB-C port or a display port since it's a difference.

It may allow you to add displays without display port. I could not find in the specs but they seem to indicate this is data transfer.
