Just keep in mind you'll still probably do better on travel if you're traveling.

I transferred 22k points to Singapore and got a summer flight that would have cost over 1k.

Wow, that is an amazing conversion ratio. The best I have done was a transfer to Hyatt where I got a $120-140 (with tax) hotel room for 5k points.

Was this recently by any chance? Curious if deals like that still exist or at a time when hotel points were less devalued?

Yeah... I've found the points transfers to work really well. I mean, the flights are drastically overpriced this summer, but what can you do?

Singapore Air is great way to travel, although they raise the miles redemption value but still good, used to be 68k for Business from US to Singapore and 120K for First class, now they do 95k for Business and 200k for First each way

It was 3 years ago, but that particular hotel is still at 5k points a night. Most of their tier 1 (5k pts) have been bumped up to tier 2 (8k pts) now, and they also do variable points, so I am seeing 9.6k pts for those hotels on certain nights. Definitely not as good as it used to be.

One way. Not sure if it was a special. It was JFK-FRA. Wife and I usually try to fly cheap and spend while we're on vacation. We used 100k points to get 2 rt tickets (out on United, back on Singapore). RT non-stop (we've got limited time and didn't want to do an Iceland stopover) on a non-low cost airline were pushing 2k each for our itinerary.
