I had to search on the Direct Tools site specifically for "crosscut" since this mower isn't coming up under their mower nor Ryobi section when navigating through the menus.

NOTE: The listing says "New" at the top of the item page and all throughout checkout it also said "new" for me, however, in the specifications section (and only there) it says "Factory Blemished"... It seems to me they cut-pasted the specs from a blemished unit and this order will be for a new one since in my experience what we see at the top is the real condition. You may want to inquire with them if this matters to you. Even if I get a "blemished" (which also in my experience over many orders have been basically new items) I'll be happy with this deal though.

$360 + $10 shipping (& your local tax)

Deal includes:
(1) RY401150US 21 In. Mower
(2) RYOBI 40V 6Ah Batteries
(1) Rapid Charger

Another tidbit of evidence which points to this being a new item is that the original price used as the basis for the 40% off is the full list price of 599 (what this sells for at Home Depot currently). If you look through their blemished items, their crossed out original price before discount is typically less than new list price.

This is a great mower and a really good value. Not perfect, but certainly worth the money.
The battery thing is by design. You pull the red plug and turn it around to use the other battery.
Not true about switching batteries. The red key has an arrow on it that points towards the battery that will power the mower. When one battery dies, you pull the key, spin it and point the arrow towards the other battery.

What's not perfect about it? At this price I would expect a solid mower

Several reviews complain about the blades hitting the deck and poor battery life.

I just bought this from Home Depot for $599 after comparing a bunch of models. Just bought this one from DT and will return the Home Depot one! Thanks!

New or factory blemished this is super slick if shipped with the 2 x 6ah batteries. Says the deck has a lifetime warranty but design flaws can't be corrected with a warranty claim. Also, my Home Depot always seems to have lots of Ryobi mowers in waiting for parts. Not sure if this unit was among them but the guys did comment that parts still take many weeks to get in. Still worth a shot at this price. Good find OP.

Is there a difference between DTO's new and factory blemished equipment? Every blem tool I've ordered from them has been new in sealed box, with no noticeable markings or defects. I've always read the "blemished" is to get around them selling under msrp.

I bought this (from HD for $600) a couple of years ago and used it twice then returned it. The batteries didn't last and it struggled cutting the grass. If the head is already sticking straight up, it seems to cut all right, but it does not pull or suck the grass into the blades at all so any blade not standing straight up didn't get cut. It struggles with tall grass (I cut mine on the highest setting once a week). After using it once and running out of juice, my wife turned back to the really struggling Toro recycler to finish the job. "Doesn't have enough T & B," she told me. It really doesn't. At least this deal comes with 2 batteries. I can't remember if mine did, but we couldn't finish a 1/3 of an acre with the mower before it died on us.
Having said all that, the cross cut really makes a nice even cut when it actually cuts. It's a beautiful result. You just have to go slow when the grass is thick.

I'd like to give this a try, can anyone comment on DT's return policy ie. are they easy to deal with?

Thanks Op! My Honda is still going strong after more than 10 years but I have been eyeing an electric mower for a long time. Finally pull the trigger on this one.

Great deal. I bought this last summer and really like it. The dual blade does make a nice clean cut in the yard.

As noted by others, I found it seemed to run out of juice before I finished—but in pressing the button on the batteries to indicate how much juice they had left, one was at full charge. I swapped the batteries between each chamber and it started right up again and had plenty to finish the job and some leftover.

Easily folds up for quick storage in the garage/shed. Been happy after a full season with Bermuda grass

Yes. DTO is easy to deal with. I sent back a refurbished snow blower that was defective on arrival without issue.
