Agreed..so I take the coffee pot out from the base and just let the water fill the coffee reservoir, stir and let all the grounds bloom. Replace the pot back in the base to let drip. A little extra effort but worth it imo. Just don't walk away before replacing the pot!
I have this in the office and never thought about doing this! Trying it on Monday, thanks!

Just to state the obvious, when doing this, don't let the water rise above the filter. Otherwise it'll overflow the grounds into the basin and then into the pot. Be careful when you peek in on the water level because it'll spit a little bit when you lift the top too high as it runs. You can also press the on/off button to stop the pump once the water is almost to the top of the filter when it's time to stir or even in-between peeks so you dont get spit on.
I understand this method takes a little out of the set and forget advantage of drip coffee but it definitely makes a noticeable difference and you're not left with dry wasted grounds in the filter.
