I unfortunately had bad experience with ikea/cashstar, I got a $500 GC last time when they had this deal and received 5 different $20 GC and one of them didn't work, neither Ikea not Cashstar was able to figure out the issue and they were just blaming each other, I had to just give up. Sharing my experience, could just be an isolated issue..

Inventory supply issues have caused people to look in other places. I purchased a sectional couch recently in three different place. One section from ikea online. Another sections from an ikea store. And the cover from Amazon. Pretty rough.

There are three things I'd like from ikea for a total of about $400.

Problem is, they're seldom in stock and never in stock at the same time. Not worth three trips.

It's interesting that you say that. My wife and I popped into Ikea a few weeks back. I wound up buying a new desk for my WFH office. What stood out to me was the fact that had I chosen a different size desk top, I would've had to purchase online. Had I chose black or brown legs, I would've been out of luck as they weren't available in-store or online. Had I chosen gray drawers, I would've had to buy online. Different pieces were available in different ways, and some just weren't available at all.

Ikea fills an interesting niche in that it lets folks piece some furniture together with varying size and color options. With supply issues, I'm guessing they're potentially in "nightmare scenario" territory.

Until they move away from CashStar, hard pass.

I've posted my experiences before, but suffice to say set a calendar reminder (e.g. 2 months) to assure you ever get the GC and don't just give them free money. Also google them and look at their reviews. IKEA is great, they just need to partner with someone else.
