Gear.com has the Kuat NV Base 2.0 Hitch Bike Rack for the normal price of $749 With their Mother's Day Code of MOM20, it is 20% off = $599.20. Shipping is free and I was charged no tax for Arizona. I ordered this a few weeks ago with a different 20% coupon and it arrived quickly via FedEx and it came in good shape. This is an excellent (though not cheap) bike rack. I use it for e-bikes. It has 120 lb capacity. Comes in 1.25" and 2" sizes. Easy assembly and toolless installation.

No doubt you've had a good experience with your 1 Up. I don't know if your friends experience with their Kuat is common, we've had ours for several years and love it, no issues, just like the day we bought it. I've seen some raggedy Kuats on the road from their early production years, these last several years they've put out a great product.

My point was for $35 more dollars, not quoting the total price. Among the cycling community it is well known that the 1up products outlast the Kuat even though the capital outlay is close. Kuat I understand has made improvements over the years, but my 12 year old 1up racks still look and function the same as they did when I pulled them out of the box. I cycle all over the US, about 5,000 miles per year, and I have three racks on three cars full time.
The Standard 1Up is 50lbs per bike, but it can go much higher. I carry two eBikes and two Enduro bikes on my standard 1Up, no issues. The Super Duty goes up to 75 lbs amd I have one of those as well. Heavy duty version is also available.
