With the Direct Tools deals on Ryobi and Ridgid, DeWalt is about two to three times too high priced on the 1/4 sheet sander. We have been through a bunch of them and a corded Makita has held up the best, but Ridgid is ok for the sale price.

Although we have a lot of DeWalt tools and a lot of batteries, I have never found a heavy battery powered sander to be all that useful from any brand. If there is corded electric around, there is no sense in wearing out batteries when a corded tool is lighter, typically more power and cheaper to own. Battery tools are a convenience and not a replacement for long term usage in one spot that has available grid power; at least not yet. Just my 2 cents.
PS: If you do the Home Depot hack, this sander is $86.35
