I didn't catch the "in store bit" but was perusing the other sets available and found the same set with acacia wood block ($40 more) - and option to ship https://www.williams-sonoma.com/p...ts&isx=0.0
I have some of these and love them. However, I will say that for a lot less (or comparable price) you can buy knives made with better steel, for example Misen has a set (bread knife, chefs knife, paring knife) made with AUS-10 steel for around 150 bucks and for most people that would serve most of their tasks. I have a ton of high end carbon and stainless Japanese knives, but I also have a couple wusthofs because the steel is SOFTER so more suitable for things like chopping nuts, etc that would potentially damage a harder and more brittle type of steel. So these definitely have their uses but I think if I had to do it all over again I would save the money (not buy these) and buy knives with better steel (AUS-10 or VG-10 at a minimum) and for the softer steel needed tasks there are plenty of cheap knives with "high carbon stainless steel" out there.
