If you have a PS5 or Series X, they're doing free upgrades for 2, 3 and 7. They're adding ray-tracing, higher resolution with high framerates, and haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support for the PS5. There isn't an exact release date for the upgrades, but it was a news pop up on PS5, about a month ago. So, I would bet within the next couple of months. If I were you, I would just keep playing Village and then play 2 and 3 after they've gotten that upgrade. Of course that doesn't matter if you haven't been able to get one of the new consoles yet.

Bought this, plus RE3 at GameStop currently $17. Haven't played any of the remakes yet.
I beat RE7, and now playing The Village. I'm behind……

Just buy it physical, since it actually is the price you want. Unless you're one of the people who made the mistake of buying one of the digital-only consoles. Physical is always better. Nothing proves that more than what happened over this last weekend, when Xbox had a big server outage and people couldn't play digital games, even offline. Anyone who has a Series S was once again shown to be a huge sucker. Lol.

Doesn't matter I have over 600 games digital and a minor hiccup isn't going to change me back. Also game sharing

I agree. I go all digital when I can. Changing and storing disc's was from a time long ago. Especially since you have to download them on console either way. If I'm at a buddy's, all I have to do is log in and we can download it and play it there. With Microsoft rewards, I haven't paid actual money for the majority of my games. If I did, I got to double dip with 15% to 20% off gift cards and then buying games on sale for 50% or more off.
That being said, the normal RE2 makes its way down to 14.99 in the ps and Xbox stores, at 20% off a gift card, you're still only looking at $12 or so. $2 is probably worth the convenience and saving the drive (might dodge tax, too.. Not sure). If you're in no rush, I'm sure it will drop more at some point.
this and 3 were so good don't hesitate on it. 2 more puzzles and 3 more of a block buster action game. the puzzles were hard and a lot of back tracking you're in for a treat 😂
I wonder if this massive firesale discount means this game will pop up as a PS Plus title sometime soon. We've had some precedence too, like FIFA 22 PS5 was going for like 10-15 bucks last month and lo and behold, its a free title this month. I prefer digital too for the convenience, but I have like 50 bucks of Best Buy rewards discount to kill expiring in next few months. Looking further into the year, its a pretty bare PS5 release calendar till heavy hitters like GOW Ragnarok and Harry Potter drop towards the winter right?
