The other Cuisinart smoker I've seen (4000 model) also looks exactly like the ZGrills 450D.
Most likely purchased and branded, but I always worry about what may be cut down to save costs. If this is a 700D and at under $300, this is truly a smoking deal. Pun fully intended
The temps are held nicely, though a bit uneven. The ash and grease trays are nicely designed. Makes ash cleanup easy. The smoke flavor is a bit lacking, so I recommend a smoke tube or tray add on.
I also bought a canpchef griddle 14*32 inch to put on it. Works very well and gets hot. The uneven temp can be a benefit here because the griddle has a cooler side and a screaming hot side

Cuisinart 1 year warranty, vs z grills 3 year warranty.
but a stand alone, and arguably less hassle 4 year warranty costs $45.
For grilling... Pellet smokers do not make great steak grills, they dont burn hot enough and no direct heat. Decent for chicken, etc that you want to cook evenly all the way through.
For most things I suggest a griddle / flat top (my favorite cooker) or propane/ng grill (I have 2, rarely get used these days). A gas grill can use a wood chip smoke box and do pretty well to smoke smaller items that do not need slow-n-low (aka, ribs, pork shoulders, etc)
Gas grills are far better when making perfect medium rare steaks... a smoker box w/ real wood chips makes them 10x better too.

You should read up on the reverse sear method for steaks.
